TEXAS TRAILS COUNCIL “CELEBRATING THE ADVENTURE, CONTINUING THE JOURNEY”
To All Scouts and Scouters: Here is your chance to create a piece of history. Texas Trails Centennial Committee is hosting a council strip patch contest to bring in the next hundred years for the Boy Scout program. We are looking for a patch design that is based on the theme “Celebrating the Adventure, Continuing the Journey”. All designs will be considered. Items that must be included in the design of the patch are the fleur-de-lis, the Texas Trails Council, and “centennial” someway denoted. Size parameters need to stay consistent with existing council strip. The winning design will be used in a five patch set. Borders will be white, red, blue, silver, and gold. Proceeds from these patches will be used to help the Friends of Scouting Program. The white border will sell for $4 to the general public.
There will only be 250 gold borders made and numbered as a limited edition. The winning design will win a full set of patches framed with #1 of 250 gold border included. All designs need to be in the council office by November 1st, 2009. Submit your designs to :
If you have any questions regarding the patch design or contest, please e-mail Jimmy Thomas at: Upsjthomas@suddenlink.net. Let’s get those designs in and help be an intricate part of the start of the next hundred years. |
