Cub Scout Family Campout

Clyde Lake, Clyde, TX

October 10-12, 2008

Registration/Health Form    Tour Permit    Map to Clyde Lake    Map of Lake Clyde

This is a great time for our new families to get together, get out into nature, and have some Cub Scout FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Clyde Lake has some great fishing, camping and activity areas.  We will have lots of activities for everyone:  Fishing Derby, Nature Hike, Tug-O-War, Archery, Volleyball, Campfires and s’mores and MUCH MUCH more!!

You will need to bring:  tents for everyone (only family members can stay in the same tent), food for the weekend with coolers and ice (no alcohol or beer allowed on Scout functions), rain gear, mosquito repellent (non-aerosol), sun block, cooking and eating utensils, large garbage bags (at least 2), fishing tackle and bait, hiking shoes (no sandals or open shoes), portable propane stove for cooking.  Leave MP3s, handheld games, electronic devices, etc at home!  We will provide Saturday lunch.

Please try to register with your Pack.  If your Pack is not attending as a unit you may come as an independent family, but be aware that camping is tight and you will be camping near those you may not know.

All scheduled activities will conclude after campfire on Saturday night.  You are welcome to stay and camp Saturday night, but there will be no scheduled activities Sunday morning.  Clean up is on your own.  Be respectful of the campground, and clean up after yourself and your family before you leave.  Always remember:  if it didn’t grow there, it does not belong there.

The Fishing Derby will be Saturday morning.  Other activities will happen after lunch.

Anyone under 17 years old may fish without a license.  Everyone fishing over 17 years old must have a fishing license.  The Game Warden will probably show up and check!  We will have some trophies for catching some BIG fish!

Fees will be $10 per person if paid in full at the Council Service Center by October 1 (NOT postmarked or mailed – they must be received by Oct. 1).  Between Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, the fee will increase to $15 per person.  Oct. 10 and walk-ins will be $20 per person.  See the Registration and Health form to sign up.

Your Pack may register everyone and save time.  Just have families fill out the forms and register them at the same time.

Fees include camping fees for the weekend, lunch Saturday, Yankee S’mores at the campfire and a patch.
