Speed is the goal of most Cub Scouts who enter their model cars in the race competition. However, a design competition is available for those whose greatest pride was in the style and appearance of their handmade racecar. Categories include Most Unusual, Best Paint Job, and Best Design.
The Pinewood derby is an excellent way for Cub Scouts to bond with their parent(s) and guardian(s) and Packs with Troops.
