CUB SCOUT CAMPING UPDATES

CUB SCOUT FAMILY CAMPS

White Buffalo District hosted (2) Cub Scout Family Camps this year.  The first, held in cooperation with Trailblazer Adventure Day at Camp Tonkawa, had over 70 youth and parents participate.

The most recent Cub Scout Family Camp was also hosted by White Buffalo District, with participation from all 4 Districts.  Frank Griffin was the Program Chair for the camp, and he and his wife, Janet, had more events than a person could complete in one day.  Archery, BB shooting, bird feeders, fishing derby, and lots more.  A great time was had by all.

WEBELOS WOODS

Demonstrations of Scout skills, camping in the cool autumn breeze and good food were the hallmarks of the Webelos Woods held on October 24-26 at Camp Tonkawa.  Over 225 Scouts, Webelos and leaders has a great time, and showed their best stuff to Webelos interested in crossing over to Scouting.  Thanks to Jimmy Thomas, Lon Hudson and Troop 235 for hosting this event.

WEBELOS CAMPS 2008

A great new program and lots of advancement were offered to Webelos at Webelos Resident Camp in 2008, held at Camp Tonkawa.  Almost 100 youth and 30 adults participated in BB, Archery, Athlete, Handyman, Readyman, Citizen, Communication, Aquanaut, and other activity pins, as well as volleyball, soccer, marbles, ultimate Frisbee, and other sports pins and belt loops.  Another exciting year for Webelos awaits them at Webelos Resident Camp in 2009.  Be sure your boys are there to have the time of their lives!
