CARL RAY CHILDERS
He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 208 sponsored by St. Paul United Methodist Church. When he was 18 he became Assistant Scoutmaster and served until 1974 when he became Scoutmaster, a position he held for years. Carl was elected to the Council Executive Board in 1976 and still serves in that capacity. He is on the Camp Tonkawa Development Committee.
Carl is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and has served as Lodge Chief and Lodge Lay Advisor. He served on the Camp Staff for eight years and as Camp Program Director for one year.
He is a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Administrative Board of St. Paul United Methodist Church. At McMurry College he received the Harry Soliday Award for outstanding senior. He is a teacher at Cooper High School, is on coaching staff, and is a member of the Texas State Teachers Association.
It is with great pleasure that the Chisholm Trail Council presents the Silver Beaver Award to Carl Ray Childers.
