MAURICE C. CALLAN, M.D.
As a boy he joined a Troop in 1942 and attained the rank of Eagle in 1946. One of his experiences as a Scout was to go to Philmont Scout Ranch.
As an adult Scouter he has assisted the local Scouting program in Rotan by serving on the Troop Committee of Troop #133, sponsored by the Rotan Lions Club. He has also served as a Merit Badge Counselor and has assisted with Boards of Review.
He has been a member of the Chisholm Trail Council Executive Board for many years, and served as community chairman for the Sustaining Membership Enrollment in Rotan on numerous occasions.
An Elder in the Rotan Church of Christ, he has also been a Sunday school teacher for many years.
He is a past president of the Rotan Lions Club, has served on the Rotan City Council, and is on the Council For Aging.
In a professional capacity he is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, County Health Officer, and the Fisher County Hospital Board.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of Abilene Christian University and serves on the committee for Science and Mathematics at A.C.U.
It is with great pleasure that the Chisholm Trail Council presents the Silver Beaver to Dr. Maurice C. Callan.
