In Mississippi, Mike was very active in his church & community and when his son reached Scout age he worked two years as an Assistant Scoutmaster.

In Abilene, the Noe family became very involved in the University Baptist Church which has a continuous sponsorship of Scouting for over 60 years. He is presently Scoutmaster of Troop 203 and has in the past served as Scouting Coordinator, Troop Committeeman, and Assistant Scoutmaster. He has also been a Webelos Leader and an Assistant Explorer Advisor.

Mike has also found time to serve on the District Committee, Commissioner Staff, and is presently a member of the Council Executive Board. He is Council Timber Tag Coordinator. He is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and has served as adult adviser to several O.A. committees.

His recognitions include the Scouter’s Training Award, Scouter’s Key, Commissioner Arrowhead Award, District Award of Merit, and the Baptist Good Shepherd Award. He has completed Wood Badge and served on the staff for Wood Badge, Timber Tag, and Eagle Mountain Junior Leader Training.

Mike has served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and President, church bus driver, member & chairman of the audio-visual committee, member of the church council, and outdoor adviser to the Royal Ambassador Program.

He has been a Little League coach, Lions Club member, and a volunteer fire department member. He is retired from the Air Force and is employed by West Texas Utilities.
