MRS. JOE ALEXANDER
She has long been the sustaining strength behind the scenes in the development of so many youth of our community.
She and her husband encouraged two sons to follow the trail to Eagle. The Boys both following their fathers professional steps are respected examples of her guidance and devotion.
Through the years she has given freely of her time and energy to the leadership of Cub Packs, Scout Troops and Explorer Posts. She has been the willing worker, infrequently recognized, who provided counseling, encouragement and instruction to both boys and adults who have since succeeded as a result of her efforts.
Her family’s many contributions to Scouting and the Chisholm Trail Council has been unselfish and generous. Her willingness to give of herself and her blessings has long been known but gone unrecognized. Her concern for youth and the development of respected citizens has not been limited as she has served St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in the capacity of Teacher, Coordinator of Children’s Ministries and as Director of Day Camps and Vacation Schools. Her door is always open to the youth of her community who might need a friend, a counselor or in many cases merely a hearty nutritional meal.
It is with extreme pleasure that the Chisholm Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, presents the Silver Beaver Award to Mrs. Joe ‘Janie" Alexander.
