As a Scout Bob attended the 1954 National Jamboree. Since 1966 he has been Skipper for Ship No. 205 sponsored by the Abilene Kiwanis Club. This Ship has had a most active program, with at least one high adventure experience each year.

He is a deacon in the Highland Church of Christ, has taught the Junior High Bible Class, and assists with their newly organized Explorer Post.

Bob is Chairman of the Boys & Girls Committee of the Abilene Kiwanis Club. He has taught and coached in the Abilene Public Schools for twelve years, and is presently Coordinator of Physical Education for the Abilene Independent School District.

It is with pleasure that the Chisholm Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America presents the Silver Beaver Award to Bob Joy.
