BRUCE N. JONES

This Scouter has given a long and distinguished service to the youth of Abilene and the Chisholm Trail Council. He has served as Scoutmaster, Cubmaster and Explorer Advisor. He served as Cubmaster of Pack 253 at Johnston Elementary School from 1957-59, as Scoutmaster of Troop 252 at Johnston Elementary School from 1960-1963. He was Advisor of Post 29 sponsored by the Key City Kiwanis Club from 1962-1964. During the time he was not serving as a unit leader he was serving as a committeeman. He is currently registered as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 252.

This man is a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, and P. T. A. He is on the Dyess Hospital Advisory Committee and a representative of the Utilities Conservation Board. He is a nominee for the sustaining Superior Performance Award from the Air Force.

Bruce Jones has served on many of the Council’s Training Committees that help adults help boys. So while working directly with boys or training their leaders, he has demonstrated noteworthy service to youth. It is with a great deal of pleasure that the National Council through the Chisholm Trail Council, B. S. A. presents to Bruce Jones the Silver Beaver Award.
