This man graduated from Abilene Public Schools and McMurry College, where he received a B. S. degree in Business Administration. He is a veteran of World War II having served 32 months overseas. After 28 years he retired as a Lt. Col. from the U. S. Army.

He is a respected Jurist, having served as District Clerk, Municipal Court Judge, City Attorney, and has served as District Judge since 1969.

He has served as Chairman of the Taylor County Democratic Committee, Lt. Governor of the Texas-Oklahoma District Kiwanis International, President Abilene Kiwanis Club, Abilene United Fund, Abilene Boys Ranch. He is a Mason, Shriner and a member of the V. F. W. He is also a member of the Official Board of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

After receiving the Eagle Scout award in 1933 this man has served as Scoutmaster and a member of the Executive Board of the Chisholm Trail Council for many years. He served as President of the Council in 1971. He is currently serving as a Vice President of the Council.

It is with great admiration and respect that the National Court of Honor presents the Silver Beaver to the Honorable J. Neil Daniel.
