Railroading Merit Badge

WHERE: Lehnis Railroad Museum, Brownwood
WHO: All Scouts
COST: $2.00 per Scout, $3.00 per adult  (Lunch is included)
Sponsored by the Model Railroading Club in Brownwood in cooperation with the Kickapoo District.  The Lehnis Railroad Museum was recently recognized as one of the outstanding museums in Texas dedicated to the history of Railroad transportation and houses an extensive collection of model trains.

Philmont

Philmont Trek 2010
WHEN: July 8 - 20, 2010
WHO: Leaders and Scouts ages 14 and over
WHERE: Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, NM
COST:  $660.00 plus transportation

2010 National Jamboree
2010 National Jamboree
WHEN: July 26 - August 4, 2010
WHO:  Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must be at least First Class Scouts. They must have completed the sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2010, but not have reached their 18th birthday by August 4, 2010.
WHERE: Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia
  The Texas Trails Council has reservations for a council contingency to Philmont in 2010. We are approved to fill two Troops with 36 youth and four adults in each Troop. Download the preliminary application form. This preliminary application must be accompanied with a $150 deposit when turned in. For more information contact the Scout Office.
   
Philmont

Philmont Trek 2011
WHEN: July 14 - 26, 2011
WHO: Leaders and Scouts ages 14 and over as of January 1, 2011 or completed the 8th grade and will be at least 13 by the day the trek begins.  (Must also pass the Philmont weight and health guidelines)
WHERE: Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, NM
COST: $775.00.  Does not include transportation, council contingent items, food while traveling, spending money, or other personal equipment.
  The council has reserved four crews for a Philmont Trek in 2011.  Each crew will consist of a maximum of 12 people with a maximum of four adults. Sign up to experience all that Philmont and High Adventure has to offer you! For more information contact the Scout Office.
