General Advancement Requirements |
Cub Scouts can participate in several ways; by himself,
with his family, with his den or in his school. He chooses
which subject he would like to try. Once he completes three
specific requirements for each academic or sports activity, he
earns a belt loop. He wears the belt loops on his Cub Scout
belt. If he likes the subject and wants to learn more, he can
complete extra requirements and earn a pin.
Pins can be displayed on an Academics and Sports letter.
The letter with pins can be worn on a sweater or a jacket, or
made into a display and framed. The letter does not go on the
Cub Scout uniform. It may be purchased at the Scout shop and
there are no special requirements for earning the letter, it's
just for displaying the pins.
Cub Scouts may choose from more than 30 academic and sports
subjects.
