Eagle Scout is the highest rank that can be earned by a Scout.

To earn Eagle Scout, a Scout must practice high character, moral, high levels of leadership, high discipline, planning. One of the requirements to earn Eagle Scout is to complete a service project for the community. The service project must not directly benefit a BSA troop or other BSA unit. The service project must benefit a non-profit organization. Service projects have included:

  • Building over 50 serviceable bicycles from junk bicycles for the Boys and Girls Clubs.
  • Repairing the fences, stands, dugouts, and grounds for Western Little League.
  • Repairing the cemetery grounds.
  • Painting the entire outside of Grace Lutheran Church in Abilene.
  • Repairing and painting the outside of the Medical Missions.
  • The list goes on and on......

Some Scouts go on to earn Eagle Palms. One Eagle Palm can be awarded for each 6 months of continued service and leadership after earning Eagle Scout plus earning 5 merit badges beyond the 21 required for the rank of Eagle.

We are proud of all of our Eagle Scouts!
