Webelos Woods is an outdoor
program activity designed to aid in the Webelos-to-Scout
transition plan. Webelos Scouting and the activities of the
Webelos den form a natural stepping stone for the Webelos Scout
and his parent to move into Boy Scouting. The purpose of this
outdoor experience is to create in all Webelos Scouts a genuine
desire to know more about Boy Scouting, and through a fun-filled
series of events, to give them a preview of the thrills of Scout
skills and camping.
Webelos
Woods is an event conducted by the sharpest Boy Scouts in the
Council for those boys who are on the threshold of entering the
Troop program. Webelos Woods shows the fun and skills of Boy
Scouting. It offers an opportunity for parents to gain perspective
on Troop programming and the opportunity to "graduate" along with
their son(s). While at this event, parents should seek information
about camping plans, meeting times, advancement plans, etc.
